We’ve Partnered with Forbidden Peak for a complimentary beverage after your paddle around the bay. You’ll earn your pours on this 3 hour self-guided rental activity!
Calling all kayak and SUP enthusiasts! Embark on a scenic kayaking or SUP adventure in stunning Auke Bay, followed by a refreshing reward at Forbidden Peak Brewery. Here’s how your day will unfold:
- Gear Up & Get Going: At 3:00PM Check-in at our Auke Bay Rental Shop to snag your Bay to Brew ticket and a handy dry bag for your essentials.Our friendly rental specialists will ensure you’re set for success, covering basic paddling and safety skills and helping you choose the perfect kayak or SUP for your skill level.
- Paddle Through Paradise: Launch your craft from the waters of Auke Bay and embark on a scenic journey. Glide past lush islands and secluded beaches, soaking in the breathtaking Alaskan panorama.
- Brews & Board: After your invigorating paddle, return your boat by 6:00 PM and head to Forbidden Peak Brewery with your ticket. It’s your passport to a well-deserved refreshment! Anyone under 21 will get a house brewed soda.
But the fun doesn’t stop there. Your ticket also gets entered into a drawing to win a brand new stand-up paddleboard!
The drawing for the paddleboard winner will be Monday, Sept. 2nd.
What you should bring:
- Rain Pants and Jacket
- Hat
- Shoes/Boots you can get wet
- Sunglasses
- Sunscreen
- Water and Snacks
- GPS and Cell phone in waterproof case

Important Notes:
- All rentals must be returned by 6:00 PM
- Late returns will be charged $20 per hour and the applicable half day rental rate. Rental guests assume responsibility for damaged boats and/or gear as described in our rental contract. No refunds will be provided for early returns
- All kayak and standup paddle board rental guests must know how to swim, participate in safety briefing prior to rental, and sign a release of liability waiver and rental contract
- Minimum age rental. 16 years old – parents/guardians of rental guests under 18 years of age are required to complete the release of liability waiver prior to rental. 7 – 15 years old – must be able to confidently paddle and be accompanied by an adult.
- Minimum age Forbidden Peak Brewery. 21 years old – all guests participating in the beverage portion of the special must be 21 years old or older to redeem for a brew. If a participant is under 21 years old they must be accompanied by an adult to redeem a ticket for dry bag and a non-alcoholic option.
- The drawing will be September 1st, 2024. Winner must be in Juneau or have a family member/friend available to pick up the SUP. We will not ship the SUP.

Located about 13 miles north of Auke Bay. Our kayaks are stored beach-side, just a short hike from the parking lot.
